Strelitzia Nicolai (White Bird of Paradise)

£46.00

Fleurs not your thing? We’ve got you covered with our selection of plants!

The Strelitzia Nicolai has many different names such as Wild Banana, Crane Plant, Strelitzia and White Birds of Paradise. Whatever you want to call this amazing Strelitzia, it is sure to bring the jungle to your home! With its glossy, verdant large leaves stretching upwards, this White Bird of Paradise really brings the tropical rainforest to your living room!

Care Instructions: Strelitzia will prefer bright, direct sunlight as they are native to Southern Africa where there is little shade. We strongly suggest putting your Strelitzia within 2 feet of a window in your living room area. Make sure the window will give it at least 6 hours of full sun everyday so it can thrive. A south-facing window is most appropriate. Like all plants, ensure your Strelitzia is not near air vents and draughts as they can alter temperatures around it. Strelitzia tends to like the soak-and-dry method of watering. This means allow the soil to become almost completely dry in between watering then, thoroughly water your plant until the excess water begins to drip out of the drainage holes. Mist the Strelitzia leaves every other day, group other houseplants close by or use a humidifier to increase the humidity in the room. This is the most effective way as you can control the exact humidity levels in the room. The recommended humidity needs to be around 60%, quite high! Brown, crispy edges ay be a sign that your Strelitzia needs more humidity, often misjudged as underwatering, so try increasing humidity before increasing the watering frequency.

- Please note, this is the price for the plant only - pots are sold separately. Plant displayed here in our large basket pot.
- All plants will be wrapped in brown craft paper.
- Available for delivery and collection.

Delivery times: Please consider that we cannot guarantee specific delivery times! You can expect a delivery between 8.30am and 6pm. For delivery locations and prices please see our ‘Delivery’ details.
